5 Fandom Friday: Five Fictional Vehicles We’d Love To Travel In

5FF

We Travelling Geeks have decided to join 5 Fandom Friday — a weekly nerdy link up where bloggers share a personalized top 5 list based on a given topic. Read the 5 Fandom Friday origin story here.

Since we’re just getting started (actually, Alice has been participating on her blog for a while) and since 5 Fandom Friday is taking a break for the month of May, we decided to go back and pick some of the older prompts to do.

This week, Lily has chosen “5 Fictional Vehicles I’d Love To Travel In” that was the official prompt from Friday, July 24, 2015.

While I might have some difficulties with my roommates (I think I could get along with Calcifer better than Howl), I love the idea of travelling/residing in this castle. Not only does it physically move, but its front door opens to one of four different locations depending on what color you turn the knob to.

Pumpkin Coach

I can’t help it. I’m a sucker for Cinderella. I even made my own miniature Cinderella carriage from a real pumpkin for Halloween last year! My inner child just couldn’t let me leave this off the list.

I don’t care if it’s flying above the city, being pushed along railroad tracks, or just driving in a mall parking lot. When this baby hits 88 miles per hour, you’re gonna see some serious s***!

Millennium Falcon

Star Wars was basically my first fandom, though I was way too young to realize it. My piloting skills aren’t up to snuff (ask anyone who has ever played Battlefront with me), so I’m content to let someone else do the flying. I don’t even care if we fly right through a star or bounce too close to a supernova; I need to ride on this ship.

Enterprise-D

USS Enterprise -D

I could rave about the amazing captain and crew or complain about the often faulty transporters, but all you really need to know is that this ship has a holodeck!

What vehicles would be on your list? Please share your thoughts in the comments below!

    hmmm, let’s see.
    * a landmate from appleseed (*stomp* *stomp* *stomp*)
    * an a-wing from star wars (the falcon would be cool, but how can one forego an a-wing for it?)
    * the wooden rocketship from saga
    * the enterprise-d, but surprisingly half-heartedly: no garak (garak is the coolest!), and there’s this boorish riker.
    * the TARDIS of course!

Aha! You’d pick an A-Wing where I was thinking of choosing an X-Wing (but I figured only one per fandom). Love reading your choices!

yes, the one per fandom ‘rule’ strikes star wars hard. there’s just too many amazing ships!
a-wing it is for me because it’s such a one-purpose ship. it’s built to be fast. faster than everything else. the end.
very very close seconds are the firespray-31 patrol/attack ship (boba fett’s slave one – probably a more realistic choice for travel, or even making home on it), the falcon, and the b-wing (just a crazy/cool design. and if my mechwarrior history is any indication, i’d probably do quite well with a moderately slow but ridiculously armed ship)

i loved thinking about these as well. these things are fun! 🙂 (and i’d probably revise it several times, the longer i think about it. not having serenity on the list is a severe shortcoming, for example.)
