1. Being Boss

being boss Being Boss is not your typical podcast, it’s for Creative Entrepreneurs & Business Owners, but I love it even if I am not any of these things. I like to listen to different work stories and picture myself living that kind of life, there are also many tips useful for students too, like time management, focus, and more.

2. The Lavendaire Lifestyle

The Lavendaire Lifestyle is a very recent discovery, I love Aileen’s videos on YouTube and she recently lauched a podcast that’s great too. She describes herself as an artist of life and talks about self-improvement and lessons learned during her own life. She’s such a nice speaker, it looks like having a friend talking to me every time I listen to her podcast!

Life is an art. Make it your masterpiece. The Lavendaire Lifestyle is the podcast on lifestyle design for millennials. Hosted by lifestyle blogger and YouTuber Aileen Xu, this podcast digs deep as Aileen shares her personal stories, life lessons, and endless wisdom on how to create your dream life. New episodes released every Sunday.

3. Elise Gets Crafty

Elise Gets Crafty is a weekly podcast that talks mostly about creative small business. Elise’s goal is to introduce you to smart, interesting people who are good at what they do and willing to share their expertise. Fun, inspiring and thought-provoking episodes. I discovered it through the memory keeping community and I never miss an episode!

4. What Should I Read Next?

What Should I Read Next? is, as you can tell from the title, a bookish podcast hosted by Anne Bogel, blogger at Modern Mrs. Darcy, one of my favorite blogs ever that I discovered thanks to my fellow travelling geek Maria! In each episode, Anne interviews fellow bookworms and, at the end, recommends her/him three books that she/he should read next. Recommended to all the book lovers. 🙂

What Should I Read Next is the show for every reader who has ever finished a book and faced the problem of not knowing what to read next. Each week, host Anne Bogel interviews a new person and finds out their tastes. Then, she makes recommendations about what to read next.

5. College Info Geek

Whether you know your university like the back or your hand, or you can’t even find your classes, this podcast will help you become an awesome student.

thanks for these recommendations, alice! i wasn’t aware of any of them, but might check out one or the other of these. 🙂

    things i listen to regularly:

http://www.tested.com/podcast/still-untitled-the-adam-savage-project/ <– still untitled: the adam savage project. i love adam savage. mostly because his enthusiasm for the nerdiest things is so unapologetic and sincere and energising. this is a weekly podcast of adam, tested.com host norman chan, and former tested.com host (and now virtual reality developer) will smith. think of it as a half-hour of nerd therapy to remind you that being a colossal nerd is an a-ok good thing.

http://www.tested.com/podcast/creature-geek/ or http://creature-geek.com/ <– creature geek. also hosted at tested.com, this is a podcast made by film special effects pro frank ippolito (http://www.frankippolito.com/) and film special effects fan len peralta. they usually have some special effects-related guest. i love this one! it’s super nerdy talk about practical effects in film, mostly monsters and monster makeup. it’s so off the cuff and informal, you get to hear the weirdest stories. like steve johnson telling the story of when he designed slimer for ghostbusters, having so much cocaine in him on the last night before his deadline that he hallucinated a ghostly apparition of john belushi who he talked to.

http://nerdist.com/tag/sex-nerd-sandra/ <– sex nerd sandra. sandra daugherty is a sex educator and a total nerd, and also suuuper fun to listen to. she has the most interesting guests, and probably the most infectious full belly laugh of all podcasting.

tech wise, i listen to tested.com’s ‘this is only a test’ podcast (http://www.tested.com/podcast/this-is-only-a-test/ – pop culture, tech, science, stuff), and occasional episodes of tekthing and/or hak5 (http://www.tekthing.com/ & https://www.hak5.org/ – they’re closely related, very tech-focussed. some cool people there.)

I don’t listen to ALL their episodes, since I’m not an actual entrepreneur, but they are funny to listen and useful, I hope you’ll like it! I discovered Elise’s blog through A Beautiful Mess several years ago and I listened to her podcast since she launched it 🙂
